This is my very first post on my brand spanking new blog. Why did I set this up when I already use Facebook and have a nearly abandoned Myspace account and a completely abandoned Livejournal? As many of you may know, I'm taking classes to try and obtain my teaching certification so I can teach high school English and Social Studies. To that end, I am taking an English class titled Critical Analysis of Video Games, or something like that. I think a lot of people will think it's a blow off class, but I will give you two reasons why it is not.
1) There is a ton of work to do. We have to be writing something nearly every day as well as being "active" within the cyber-realm of our class. As many of you also know, I can handle this level of work, but staying engaged and active on the Internet can be a difficult to me. But I'm going to dust off my old college try. I wonder if I can take this pass/fail? Of course, If I day well, I'm screwing myself out of a GPA booster.
2) I strongly believe that video games are the next great art form. It's taken a long time for the general public to even begin seeing this possibility in video games, certainly much longer than it took film, but it is in it's colicky infancy none the less.
So, a lot of these blogs are going to be about and for class. But many of my friends might find it interesting anyway. I hope so. I'd hate to bore you with yet another ego maniacal techno-tool.

I have to agree with you on your second point there. Video games are becoming the next great art form. Not only in an interactive way, but also visually, and musically. The graphics on the current generation of consoles, while aren't comparable to high-end PCs, have made great progress in engrossing players in the world of almost every game genre. Musically is another way as the music of the game draws the gamer in even further. It makes gamers feel certain emotions with its arrangements. Even now there are video game musical concert tours all around the U.S. Yeah, I totally agree that video games are the new art form.
